Darlington Fire Station.
With Christmas fast approaching we want to make sure everyone feels safe, warm and connected with their community.
That’s why we are welcoming residents to Darlington Fire Station to a coffee morning, titled Catch Up With Our Communities, every Tuesday in December up until Christmas.
Our crews will be there to meet everyone and enjoy a catch up over a hot drink.
The coffee morning is free to attend and everyone in the community is welcome.
Station Manager Billy McAloon said: “We’re looking forward to hosting a series of coffee mornings at Darlington Fire Sation for locals.
“We know how important it is to feel connected, particularly during the Christmas period which can be a difficult time for some people.
“If you know someone who might enjoy a trip to our fire station for a coffee with other residents, please let them know about our Tuesday coffee catch ups.
“We will be hosting them every Tuesday morning in December in the run up to Christmas.
“This festive season, we are also raising awareness of our free Home Fire Safety Visits (HFSV) which see crews come to your home to fit smoke alarms and offer advice on how to keep safe from fire.
“Firefighters, members of our Community Safety Team and representatives from Darlington Borough Council will also be on hand to offer advice and support.”
Cllr Jim Garner, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for stronger communities, said: “We work closely with the fire and rescue service and partners on a range of community projects to support residents, businesses and visitors to Darlington.
“The Catch Up With Our Communities events are a great opportunity to get together and enjoy a chat over a hot drink, especially as we’re now at the start of the winter approach to Christmas.
“It’s a chance to update people on council and partnership initiatives and to offer advice on further support available in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so do come along.”
To arrange a HFSV call 0345 223 4221, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Catch Up With Our Communities takes place every Tuesday in December from 10am to 11.30am at Darlington Fire Station, with the last session taking place on Christmas Eve.
